The Sound, The Attitude, The Legacy

Bursting onto the scene in classic rock style, Moxy a band formed in Toronto in the early 1970's, gained acclaim with their heavy hitting sound and no-nonsense attitude. Living through their original music, memorable performances and the fans they've moved, Moxy cemented themselves as one of Rock n Roll's favourite arcane acts.

The Early Days - 1973

The birth of Moxy was near when Toronto born singer Buzz Sherman linked up with Hamilton native Earl Johnson for a second time. Initially the two shared their love for rock n roll sporting a similar taste, however the music that was soon to come was still materializing. The second time around there was some magic in the air and the two of them knew they were onto something.

Assembling the rest of the band was next, before they knew it the squad was formed with the likes of Terry Juric and Buddy Caine. It didnt take long for them to pick up some local gigs and in classic Moxy fashion, they started to make some noise. In those early days some may remember Moxy for their high energy, speaker blaring performances and their killer Led Zeppelin covers. While being an early influence to their style and soon to be Hard Rock found sound, Moxy was in the works of becoming much more than just your next cover local band.
